Lucky seven: Weekly letter with five quotes and two doses of optimism.

Today, let's explore some quotes shared by Ernst F. Schumacher.

  1. An ounce of practice is generally worth more than a ton of theory.
  2. Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.
  3. The art of living is always to make a good thing out of a bad thing.
  4. Anything that we can destroy but are unable to make is, in a sense sacred, and all our 'explanations' of it do not really explain anything.
  5. Call a thing immoral or ugly, soul-destroying or a degradation to man, a peril to the peace of the world or to the well-being of future generations: as long as you have not shown it to be "uneconomic" you have not really questioned its right to exist, grow, and prosper.

And two thoughts from my searches. Both positive, one funny, and one serious:

  1. Changing your sleeping position will never be boring, no matter how often you do it.
  2. An oldie and goldie thread about getting rich without being lucky from @naval - https://twitter.com/naval/status/1002103360646823936

Have a great week ahead, and see you on the next occasion!
