Lucky seven: Weekly letter with five quotes and two doses of reflection.

Today, let's explore some quotes shared by Frederick Douglass.

  1. It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.
  2. Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.
  3. I prayed for freedom for twenty years, but received no answer until I prayed with my legs.
  4. It is not light that we need, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake.
  5. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.

And two thoughts from my searches. Both positive, one funny, and one serious:

  1. The origin of the pinky swear.
  2. Lie in the sunshine. Daydream about the life you would lead if failure weren’t a thing. Open your eyes. Visualize the next step, make the step, and lie in the sun again.

Have a great week ahead, and see you on the next occasion!
