I dedicated a day to reading and taking notes on the end-of-year metrics and reviews of people I follow, trying to see if there are any new methodologies to which I might introduce myself. The annual review is just a tool, a tool that, when used correctly, can help you better understand how your life changed in one year. I usually like spending time improving and optimizing parts of my life.
So here are stats for me for 2024:
- I've sent 294 initial prompts to OpenAI, each averaging 34 words. This is a bit less than one prompt per working day. I average around four messages per prompt, which tells me I tend to find the right solution quickly.
- I've started 37 books, progressed past 50% for 17, and finished 5. I also re-read six books from previous years. This tells me I was engaged in 60% (+15% compared to 2023) of the book content I consumed.
- I listened to 3146 artists, 45% new to me. I also heard 15263 songs (+2% compared with 2023). One music tool says I can be considered a "versatile nostalgic nomad," and another says I am among the 5% global listeners.
- I've seen the safety flight instructions 16 times (-46% compared to 2023). I traveled 24018 km, close to halfway around the world. This means 7.2 tonnes of CO2e that I had to offset. There were no new countries last year; I'll add one this year.
